Playful Design, Serious Impact

Discipline: Campaign Design, Environmental Design

Role: Art Direction, Design

Client: Children’s Health (internal client)

I partnered with the Children’s Health team to build on the new balloon based identity system and guide how it lived across campaigns, print and environmental design. Balloons varied in shape, size and color became a universal metaphor for play, hope and celebration while also serving as a flexible toolkit for brand expressions. A playful icon set supported the balloon ecosystem, adding variety and detail across applications. Together these elements gave the brand an energetic personality that remained adaptable and cohesive across audiences and media.

Balloons That Carry Meaning

The balloon system worked at every scale from bold super graphics in hospitals to small icons in brochures and digital assets. Each balloon carried meaning whether framing a message of care or adding a playful touch. The variation in size and color made the system feel alive and reflected the diversity of children and the vibrancy of the brand’s mission.

As art director I collaborated on campaigns, photo shoots and brand assets that brought the identity into everyday use. Balloons anchored donor recognition pieces guided advertising and supported wayfinding in physical spaces. A playful icon set complemented the balloon ecosystem by adding variety and detail across applications. The result was a flexible and joyful identity that gave Children’s Health a consistent voice while always keeping children at the center of the story.
